Coaches From All Walks of Life!

Some of my shameful secrets on Shakeology, and a little help from Team Dynasty :-)


 The low down on Shakeology!  It's not a fad diet, or a diet at all.  It's not necessarily a meal replacement drink, UNLESS you want to use it that way.  It's NOT a protein shake  It's not an "energy" drink.  SO what is Shakology?  It's the healthiest, most natural snack, or meal of the day!!  I really don't talk much about Shakeology.  Why you ask?  To be perfectly honest with you, I don't know all the logistics of Shakeology.  I just know it's amazing and it makes me feel lubricated, healthy, makes my skin glow, and HELPS with my protein intake.  It's really hard to explain (I tried HERE), so to be honest.....I'm the worst person to really ask about it, because all I can say is it's simply amazing, and let me be honest again....when I originally bought it, I bought it because I wanted to hate it.  Doesn't make much sense really, but I just wanted to tell people that tried selling it to me, yes I tried it and I hated it.  BUT as you all know, that didn't happen.  Yes, I know this is a little honest.  I just really wanted to get it out there!  I DO want you all to know the actual break down and why it works, so here is a break down from one of our Team Dynasty shakeology experts, Seay Stanford.  I really hope to someday (very) soon gain the confidence and knowledge to give knowledge like Seay does.  She can break down each of the 70 ALL NATURAL ingredients and tell you exactly what they do.  Maybe if I break it down by week???  Think I'll try to make that one of my New Year resolutions.  SO here is what Seay has to say!!

Shakeology is NOT a protein shake. Nor is it a weight loss shake. It is a 100% natural (Macro and micro) nutrient dense meal replacement. It is not a one-dimensional protein shake. The fact that some people say it tastes like "grass, lawn clippings and cheap chocolate" is actually a selling point. Our taste buds have been so "brainwashed" on what real whole foods actually taste like, that we generally don't know natural real whole cocoa from processed chocolate. Because Shakeology IS 100% natural (created by a vegan with a masters in nutrition and agricultural anthropology) the standard to remain natural does not allow for ANY artificial flavors, colors, stimulants, sweeteners or chemically modified micronutrients. Nor do I expect them to have general knowledge in all the health benefits and medicinal treatments that these foods have notoriously been used for centuries to reduce free radicals from our body, improving our white blood cell count which helps us fight disease, reducing inflammation (the number one marker of EVERY disease), improving the natural flora in our digestive system, etc. If Beachbody grew these products in a lab and modified them to keep them cheap, that would be one thing, but EACH of the 70 super foods are imported from the countries, climates and pure soil they originate from and then dried to a specific protocol to maintain a whole food- absorption integrity. Everyone should value this $4 meal. I first hand, have hundreds of clients that Shakeology has reduced their needs for diabetic meds, statins and ace inhibitors. Its also relieved countless cases of IBS, colitis, and arthritis. To my clients, paying $4 and getting off their pricey side-effect laden medication is MUCH cheaper and a price well worth $119 for a month supply. And none of them complain about the taste ♥

Last week of Ultimate Reset Notes, and YOU CAN try it to!!

Hey everyone!!  I feel really bad that I never updated days 10-21 of the Ultimate Reset like I promised!  Everything went really well, and honestly, days 10-21 were much like days 1-9.  The food was plentiful, and really good.  I did end up getting a pretty bad migraine on day 13 I believe, BUT it was more hormonal related....if you catch my drift!!  There were also a lot of people on the group forums that talked about all this energy that they got in weeks 2-3.  I honestly never got that energy and I'm not sure if it was due to my period coming that week.  I'm usually VERY, VERY tired that week but I did noticed that I wasn't AS tired as I normally feel.  I didn't feel dragged down.  I also cheated on day 18 and had some pasta at a girls get together.  I made my food and brought it over....but the Italian in me just couldn't stop my mouth from watering, and I just had the worst urge.  Honestly, I'm pretty excited that I made it 18 days following the plan!!  I think I did pretty awesome!!!  I did learn quite a bit, and as far as post-reset goes, I actually am feeling WONDERFUL right now, better than I have in YEARS!!  I've had quite a few things on the menu again.  Trying to stick to eating healthy still and the food was soooo good, I don't mind mixing it in the weekly plan!  My energy has been through the roof.  Although, like I said, I wish I actually felt like this during the reset.  Working out got me pretty winded the first week, but now I'm just having a blast with TurboFire!!  YES!!  I finally started TF and it's going so well.  I really like it, although I DO miss lifting.  I'll get back to ChaLEAN Extreme once my 90 days of TF are over.  I'm in the middle of week 3 right now.  There are a ton if  things I DID learn about the Ultimate Reset I want to share some of the things that stuck out the most, including some more food pictures and then I will get to my stats and HOW YOU can try the Ultimate Reset for the New Year!!

  • I finally know the true meaning behind "abs are made in the kitchen"  If you've been wondering WHY you haven't seen amazing ab results from working out.....it's because you need to eat healthy non processed foods!!
  • This isn't your "NORMAL" cleanse!!  It's not the "eat once a day, drink your lemonade concoction the rest of the day" YOU WILL EAT and you will eat a lot!!  Three times a day, BUT the meals are HUGE!
  • If you drink anything with caffeine, you'll want to clear it out of your system before you start, or you'll have a headache for the first 3 days FOR SURE!  Luckily, I don't drink caffeine, so this didn't happen to me.
  • I rested well, had really strange dreams though.
  • Figuring out what actually FUELS my body!  When you eat bad, you body craves nutrition, so it begs for more food......once you start eating nutritionally dense foods, your body won't crave as much, because your FEEDING it what it needs!
  • Have time to prep the food!!  Look ahead and READ the recipes to see what you need to prep.  I work different hours almost daily.  I made a schedule weekly and wrote out what I needed to do to make this WORK.
  • The first week of shopping was pretty expensive for most people.  It cost about $200, but most of the stuff you re-use for week 2 and 3 so groceries for those weeks were in the $50-75 range.  I usually spend about $175 a week to feed Devin and I........so it wasn't really that bad.
  • A few days after the reset I wanted some beef a roni, well.....that tasted like crap!!!  And so did the Hosteds Cupcake I bought (yeah, I know, bad!!). I threw them both out after 1 bite and never looke back!!
  • Discovered that I'm a big muncher!!  I eat while I'm working on the computer, I eat while I'm watching TV, and not healthy options either!  WOW this really opened my eyes to why I wasn't really making the big strides that I thought I should be making!
  • Realized how much I missed my Shakeology!!  It just adds the extra oomph I need in my day, with no caffeine or stimulants.....also without it, my face just goes CRAZY!!  I ended up adding the Vegan formula back into my schedule towards the end of the reset.   
I did this reset to basically see how my diet directly makes me feel, and to reset my body.  It was an amazing journey and one that I WILL do again!!  In 6 months I will re-follow the meal plan without the supplements.  Next November I plan to do the whole thing over again with the supplements!  So on to my stats.  I didn't do this to lose weight, and they try to STRESS that this IS NOT a weight loss program, but if you do lose weight, then that is an added bonus (and most people DO lose weight).  If you are closer to your goal weight you probably won't lose a ton.


  •  I ended up losing 5 pounds, and in the  3 weeks since the reset, I've gained 2.5 back.  BUT it's that time of month again, so about a 1.5 of it is just bloat
  • I stayed the same in my arms
  • Lost 1 inch in my chest 
  • Lost 1 inch in my waist
  • Lost 1.5 in my belly area
  • Lost .25 in my butt
  • Lost 1 inch in my upper thighs
  • Lost .5 in my lower thighs. 
SOOOO I lost almost 5 inches in my body!  I've gone up a little on that as well, but like I said, it's not a good time of the month to be measuring my body!

8 and 9 of the Ultimate Reset are DONE!

Alright, I'm in the Release section of the reset, which is week 2.  I finished day 8 and 9 of the Ultimate Reset.  I started taking the Detox packet, and actually, it's really good.  I think it taste a bit like tea that has some spices in it.  Not quite like Chi tea though.  It's doable, but it does have a very grainy texture.  I did have some minor lower back and knee discomfort again on day 8, but NOTHING on day 9!!  YESSSS!!  I do notice my forehead breaking out a bit, I'm pretty sure it's from the lack of my Shakeology.....OH how I MISS THEE!!!  I had a little adult acne but when I started drinking Shakeology it cleared up!  I stopped for about three weeks in September to test my theory and the breakouts came back.  SOOO back on the amazing Shakeology I went!  And my face cleared back up, but sadly.....I had to stop for the reset :-(  The Vegan formula is approved for snacks, but ONLY if you need a snack.  Maybe I'll just start back up on it again for the sake of my skin!!  I really do miss it!  I also miss working out.  I've been doing about 20 minutes of yoga and a little bit of stretching, but I WANT TO WORK IT!!  I can't WAIT to start my 90 days of TurboFire.  I'll be starting a new challenge group, solely TurboFire, so if you have it let me know if the 19th or the 26th of November work for you!!  I'd love to hear your thoughts!!  If you don't have TurboFire, and want to get in the action......just hit the purple "TurboFire" and it'll take you directly to the page so you can order it. 

 This whole reset has really been a breeze for me.  I haven't had any crazy cravings or feeling like I need to munch, except for when I'm watching a movie or on my last break at work (big munch times for me)  I'm learning that clean eating is awesome, and tasty as well!!  I'll be incorporating a lot of these recipes into my daily meals.  I DO miss eating meat, so I know I won't be going vegetarian, but I will be cutting down on the amount I eat.  I'm not going to lie, now that I think about it.....I miss pasta!!  I'll be cutting down on that as well.  We'll see how I feel in the coming days.  I have 12 more days left!  I've been staying away from the scale and the measuring tape for now.  This reset really wasn't about the weight or inches.  Mostly to see how I feel when I eat better, how my energy levels are, and how different my muscle tone is, because they say, "Abs are made in the kitchen".  Not really sure why the chick is grabbing herself in the picture....but I want her boobs.......and body for that matter ;-P  Wait, that sounded bad...meaning I want to look like that!!  Okay so on to the food! 
 
The food portion has been perfect, and most of the time too much for me to eat, and I haven't been hungry between meals, unless I go to long between lunch and dinner.  This usually occurs when I'm working.  Day 8 I had an assortment of fresh fruits for breakfast.  Lunch was my micro salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, avocado and toasted pumpkin seeds with the ginger dressing.  For dinner I had brown rice and beans seasoned with a bunch of spices.  I also had steamed green beans with zucchini sprinkled with lemon and some Himalayan sea salt.
 

 
 
Day 9 I actually had Miso soup for breakfast and some avocado with mashed chickpeas with olive oil drizzled on it.  I also made this yummy condiment called Nori Gomasio that consists of toasted sesame seeds, nori, and Himalayan sea salt.  Grind it all up and sprinkle it on!!  Lunch was actually left over brown rice and beans, and also another salad just like day 8.  Dinner was amazing!!  I had roasted asparagus drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with the sea salt.  I also made a sweet potato and roasted red pepper bisque.  I roasted the pepper myself and the whole house smelled like, well, basically what you'd think a Grateful Dead concert smells like ;-)  Anyways, it was delicious!!!!  So there you have it!  Another 2 days DONE!!
 
Oh and the Miso soup was Hunnie approved, every time I have it he has to have my last sip!

Day 6&7! Done with week 1!

Day 6 and 7 of the Ultimate Reset are DONE!  I did have a little back pain in the kidney area and knee pain on day 6, the back pain went away by the next day but my knees have a slight ache to them still.  I also felt really tired on day 7, so I took a nap before lunch and I went to bed around 9pm instead of my normal time at 10:30.  I also felt a little sad on day 7, not sure if it's just my body detoxing or if it was the birthday blues.  Either way, I feel better today!!  Hopefully I'll have some energy today as well! 

I went grocery shopping yesterday for this new week, lots of veggies, and fruit!  This week I cut out dairy (no more Greek yogurt :-( ) and meat, and slowly start cutting out a lot of the grains.  I will also add a packet of Detox taken much like the Alkalinize....shot like!  This next week is called Release, and it starts today.

 For breakfast on Day 6 I had some marinated baked Tempeh, avocado, spinach and Ezekiel toast with a little raw honey on it.  For lunch I had the delicious quinoa salad and also a micro green salad with a ginger style homemade dressing with it.  Dinner was amazing!!  I made zucchini and cashew soup, toasted millet and roasted root medley, which consisted of yams, onion, carrots and beets.
 Day 7 I had oatmeal with flax seed, apples, cinnamon, and maple syrup with vanilla Greek yogurt with blueberries.  Lunch was left over zucchini and cashew soup and I also had a micro green salad with tomato, and avocado same dressing as day 6.  Dinner I did a repeat, because we're aloud to do that.  So since it was my birthday, I decided to do the bean and rice burrito with kale and pine nuts and fresh guac.  It was one of my favorite meals!!
The picture above is of the Alkalinize (I take 1 a day) and the rest of the supplements I have to take.  The mineralize goes into my gallon of distilled water that I drink daily, the optimize I take 2, 3x a day and the oxygenize I do 15 drops 3x a day.  SO there you have it!!  Week 1 wasn't bad at all!!! On to week 2!

Uneventful Day 4 and 5!! :-)

I decided to combine days 4 and 5 because, well, this is probably so boring to everyone!  I honestly thought I'd have more to tell you during the first week of the Ultimate Reset.  BUT that's actually a good thing, in a way.  I joined a Beachbody forum on Facebook that goes by weeks.  Week 1 I joined a few weeks a head of time to kinda gauge how I may feel during the first week.  I wanted to know what I should expect!  I read that headaches/migraines for the first 1-4 days are VERY common, going to the bathroom a little more throughout the day, muscle and joint soreness from day 3-7, some back pain due to your kidneys releasing toxins, tiredness, foggy feeling, light headed, mood changes and the list goes on!!  The only things I have felt, like I said when I posted on Halloween, was that I had a slight headache that day.  I'm pretty sure it was from the wig and headband I wore all day.  I woke up with a slight headache today, but it went away as soon as I drank water and ate breakfast.  I had slight tiredness during day 2-3 but it just felt like I worked long shifts.....and actually, I did.  Oh and my knees hurt a tiny bit today, like I worked them out....hmmmm.  I'm very thankful that I haven't experience a lot of the side effects that I mentioned above, and hoping that the rest of my journey goes as smooth.  The food has been amazing, they give you all the recipes and shopping lists you need.  I'm learning a lot about clean eating and hope to incorporate a lot of the recipes in my life once I'm done with the reset. 





The foods in day 4 and 5 where really good, I had oatmeal for breakfast both days.  I put raspberries in day 4 and also had some Greek yogurt, blackberries and toasted walnuts are in day five's oatmeal.  Day 4's lunch was a sushi roll (or an attempted one, since the brown rice was left over from the day before and on the cold side, it didn't stick correctly) I actually ended up mushing it all up in a bowl and it was just as good.  The roll bowl had carrots, avocado, cucumbers and tempeh. I also had the lentil salad that I had the other day.....it's sooo good!!  For dinner I had a cucumber and tomato salad with basil, olive oil and balsamic vinegar and also veggie stir fry that had zucchini, broccoli, red peppers and carrots, over quinoa.  I had the same thing for dinner on day 5 but also had miso soup as well.  Today's lunch (day 5) was a quinoa salad with olive oil, liquid amino, lemon juice, mint, tomato, cucumber, and kalamata olives in it.  Plus a side dish of veggies and hummus.  There is always a lot of food, and the goal is to eat slowly until you are full.  I'll have to take a picture of the Alkalinize that I do daily as well, just to show you all how green it is!

Short and Sweet Day 3

Day 3 of the Ultimate Reset is done!! Still feeling pretty good!!  I have a very slight headache right now, first time since starting the reset. I'm pretty sure it's from the wig and headband I wore for Halloween (Cheshire Cat) and not actually from the reset. I had to skip making the sushi rolls and miso soup that were scheduled for dinner due to prep time and working a weird shift.  I didn't want soggy sushi rolls!  I had a ton left over from last nights dinner, so I swapped! It was soooo good!!  I was really looking forward to the rolls and soup, but they are actually for lunch in a couple of days, so I'll get to make them then. I had a repeat for breakfast, scrambled organic eggs, spinach and 2 pieces of Ezekiel toast, but this time I spread some raw honey on them. For lunch I had an AMAZING lentil bean dish.  It had shredded carrots, and seasoned with Braggs amino acid, lime, cilantro, some cumin and a dash of Himalayan sea salt.  I was also suppose to have a salad as well, but I was too full to eat it!!  Dinner was the same as last night :-)

Ultimate Reset Day 2!

So day 2 of the Ultimate Reset is down in the books and it was amazing, except having to run to the store at 7:45am to buy oatmeal.  My dearest hubby decided to eat it all when he was home for the weekend, forgot to tell me and left the container in the cupboard....with a teaspoon of oatmeal left in it :-/.  For breakfast, if you haven't guessed, I had oatmeal!  I added organic grade B maple syrup, and also had organic vanilla Greek yogurt and a cup of blueberries sprinkled in each item.  It was amazing!!  For lunch I had a Greek salad with a homemade Greek vinaigrette.  The salad had chicken, romaine hearts, kalamata olives, tomatoes, and cucumbers.  And finally dinner!!  Dinner was amazing!!  I had brown rice, corn and bean mixture with an amazing spice assortment mixed in.  I added homemade guacamole and pico, and wrapped it up in a flour tortilla.  For my side I had kale with a pinch of lemon juice and toasted pine nuts!  It was sooooo filling!!  My eating schedule was the same as yesterday, so I was pretty hungry by the time dinner rolled around.  No unusual side effects yet, besides feeling cold last night, but it was a windy, rainy late night for me, since I didn't get home until a little after 1am from work, and the reason why I didn't update my blog last night.

Day 1 of the Ultimate Reset DONE!!

Day 1 of the Ultimate Reset is complete!!  I woke up at 6:50am, took measurements and pictures and took my first round of Oxygenize and Optimize.  I waited 30 minutes and then made my breakfast.  Breakfast consisted of two organic scrambled eggs seasoned with Himalayan salt, two pieces of Ezekiel toast, and a serving of spinach.  This was a pretty normal breakfast for me, but instead of two pieces of toast, I usually eat turkey bacon, or one piece of toast.  I also prepped for my lunch that I had to bring to work, and my dinner that I needed to marinate.  Prep time wasn't too bad, took me about 35 minutes.  The rest of my day was pretty uneventful, I had to take the Oxygenize(about 10 liquid drips) twice more, and the Optimize (2 little pills) twice more and the dreaded packet of Alkalinize.  I was pretty worried to drink this green, wheat-seaweed smelling powder.  I've been on a private Beachbody Ultimate Reset Facebook page for week one resetters, and I've been keeping tabs for two weeks before I started on what people are doing, feeling, prepping food ect.  The majority of the people that are doing the Reset hate the Alkalinize......hate it enough were some people talk about physically getting sick after drinking it, or gagging, spitting it out, ect.  When it became my turn to down the green concoction, I was scared!!  I took the advice of a few party type resetters and actually did it like a shot......2 ounces of green stuff and suck on a lemon after, and honestly?  It wasn't bad at all!  It tasted like I explained in the beginning, grassy, slight seaweed, salty, but not in a bad way.  I also read a lot of people getting headaches on the first day, so far, I've been good!  I'll probably have a slight one tomorrow, but the moderators on the FB site just keep saying to DRINK YOUR WATER!!  I almost drank a gallon of distilled water (with special minerals in it...Himalayan salt)  Taste a little flat, but it's doable.  SOOO for the rest of my meals!  For lunch I had a huge salad with jicama, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, red bell peppers, carrots, basil, and a homemade vinaigrette.  For dinner I had steamed asparagus sprinkled with lemon juice, baby red potatoes. and salmon marinated in olive oil, garlic, lemon and basil.  The only time I was REALLY hungry was before dinner.  I worked a weird shift today, ate my lunch at 12:30 and then dinner wasn't until 8:00pm so it's pretty obvious to see why I was so hungry!!  Tomorrow will be day 2!  Praying I'm lucky and don't get any headaches, I'm off to dry brush and take a warm bath.  One of the side effects is feeling slightly chilled, and I actually do a little.

Awesome weekend!! Starting the Ultimate Reset tomorrow!

This weekend was so amazing!  My hubby came home on Friday night for a quick weekend visit and we had a blast.  It went by so quickly.....and now he's gone again to meet up with the boat to finish the rest of the patrol.  AND this is the perfect time to start the Ultimate Reset!!

I will be posting daily blogs to touch base on how I feel and all the great foods that are in this reset.  It's going to be hard to not work out :-(  I can stretch, do some softer yoga and walk 30 minutes a day.  They recommend NOT working out due to the "stress" your body will be going through to rid itself of the toxins that have accumulated due to all the foods we eat that are processed, or hormone-treated, pesticides that are in our fruits and veggies ect.

OHH CANADA......Ultimate Reset talk, Bridge Run and more!!

OKAY.....so I got wicked excited about all of that, really, it's been a great 5 months with Beachbody so far, and the extra income is awesome, but the joy of actually helping people reach their fitness goals is one of the best feelings!!  When my friend and fellow coach Rebecca wanted me to take her pictures for her 60 day Turbo Fire results, she seemed so upset.  Rebecca felt like she hadn't made any progress....her results shocked her, and the look on her face of pure surprise and joy once she saw the before and after pictures actually choked me up!!  Now, I did nothing more than introduce her to Beachbody and Shakeology, it was her PURE DETERMINATION, HER WANT AND DRIVE that got her to day 60 (and going into day 90 strong)  Look at these results!!  AMAZING!!  Whenever you start a new fitness program, it's sooo important to take those measurements and pictures!  The number on the scale can be so deceiving!!  Becca happened to be part of the "60 Sweaty Days of Summer" Challenge, and I still have a few openings for the "Fall into Fitness" challenge starting on October 15th.  LOOK what your body can do in 60 days!!  Do you WANT this?  Message me for details!!


 
Soooo yeah, on to some 10K Columbia Crossing news!!  I finished the race!!  The incline that lasted almost a mile was a B*TCH!!  BUT I didn't stop running, I just kept moving, and probably cursing the whole way up it, knowing that what goes up, must go down...right???  I didn't score the time frame I wanted, but I was only a minute off, I wanted 1 hour 5 minutes.  I came in at 1 hour 6 minutes and 5 seconds.  Not too bad!!  Half the race I was carrying my Iphone and my running jacket!  It was a stunning day, I guess one of the nicest days they've had in some years for the run. 
 





 



 
 
 
 The dude on the stilts actually "ran" the race!!  He finished a little after me.  My amazing friend Jill came to cheer me on, and took a few pictures, sadly she forgot to give me my "prize" for crossing the finish line, so it sits in her fridge (at least I think it still does ;-P )  Until I decide it's time to down it, which will probably be next week LOL. 
 
As you all may or may not know, but now you do...my little sister is coming to visit me this coming week on the 9th!!  I'm BEYOND excited!  I've pushed back the start of my  21 day Ultimate Reset until October 29th, which means I will be doing this during my 36th 25th birthday.  I just got everything in the mail today along with my new Dani Johnson book on personal development within yourself and business.  I will take before and after pictures, and pictures of the food and of course blog daily once I start the reset, and I'm super excited to share this with you all!!
 








 Once I get through the Ultimate Reset I will start 90 days of Turbo Fire and once I hit my 60 days, I will be adding the advanced addition.  I will definitely miss ChaLEAN Extreme and lifting, BUT once I hit my 90 days with Turbo Fire, I'll switch back with CLX and start lifting again.  At least I will still have Chalene in my life for the next 6ish months ;-P, she's so motivating!!
